Overview

Expectations: Our Ancient Crossroads by Private Jet itinerary is an active and ambitious program. While the pace of daily activities is moderate, there will be many early morning departures and longer days so you can experience the best of these incredible destinations. As the itinerary covers great distances, guests will experience frequent time zone changes, which can affect energy levels. You should be physically active and in good general health prior to departure. The trip will include plenty of physical activities—including walking and hiking—in addition to less active excursions designed to offer cultural or historical context. Some excursions will last from two to three hours and require walking from one to three miles. During the stops in the Himalayas, you will be traveling to very high altitudes: Paro, Bhutan is at 7,218 ft and the optional hike to Tiger’s Nest will bring guests to over 10,000 feet. Kathmandu, Nepal sits in a deep valley at 4,593 ft.

All excursions will take place rain or shine and some of the destinations will be warm with strong sun. In more remote spots, expect to walk and hike along groomed trails, that may have steep ascents and descents. Trails and pathways may be sandy or rocky, with uneven steps, pebbles, or exposed roots, and with a tendency to become slippery and muddy after rains.

Specific inoculations will be required to take part in this journey. Details on how to prepare for this trip and information on each day’s activities, including weather, packing suggestions, and “what to expect” will be included with your Pre-Tour documents.

Countries on this itinerary are not immune to events that could require an itinerary change. Weather, political occurrences, and visits by dignitaries can require extra flexibility to accommodate the unexpected event or events.

This Private Jet Journey is appropriate for: Travelers who are reasonably fit and healthy, enjoy days full of discovery and adventure, and are comfortable with many early mornings to see the most of these destinations. *As part of registering for this trip, all participants will need to be evaluated by their private physician to be sure the program and pacing is suitable for them.

For travelers who require a slower pace, extra assistance, or the use of a cane or walking stick, arrangements can be made for private touring at each destination if necessary, at the discretion of tour staff.
