Suggested Itinerary

Day 1 — Dublin, Ireland

Fly to Dublin and meet your private driver for the transfer to your hotel. After time to settle in, head out to discover the city on an electric bicycle tour. You’ll cycle through lively neighborhoods and leafy squares, along the River Liffey, and past some of the city’s historic sites, including Dublin Castle and the Christchurch Cathedral

Day 2 — Dublin

Delve into Ireland’s long history of rebellion and political struggle on a guided visit to Kilmainham Gaol, where revolutionary and political prisoners were held for nearly 150 years. Continue to Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Ireland’s largest and most famous cathedral, and step behind the scenes with a private guide on a secret tour that will bring you to areas not usually accessible to the public. (B)

Day 3 — Kilkenny

Travel south with your private guide to Kilkenny, an important center of government in the Middle Ages and now a hub of Irish arts and handicrafts. Take a walking tour along the city’s Medieval Mile, and then sample the local spirits at Ballykeefe Distillery, an intimate distillery set on a working farm. Your home in County Kilkenny is a stunning manor house that has witnessed 250 years of Irish history. (B)

Day 4 — Kilkenny

This morning, visit a farm estate to watch a skilled sheepdog round up a small herd of sheep. Explore the 12th-century ruins of Newtown Jerpoint, and learn about the excavations that uncovered this once-thriving town. The rest of the afternoon is yours to take advantage of the many amenities available at your hotel. You can go fishing on the River Nore, play a round of golf, visit the state-of-the-art equestrian centre to take a trail ride, or partake in a private hawk walk with expert falconers. (B)

Day 5 — County Wexford

Spend today discovering the historic sites of County Wexford. Step into the shoes of Ireland’s 19th-century emigrants on an interpretive tour of the Dunbrody Famine Ship, a full-scale reproduction of a tall ship that transported Irish families fleeing the potato famine. Visit the humble ancestral home of John F. Kennedy, and see the evocative ruins of two Cistercian abbeys: Dunbrody Abbey and Tintern Abbey.  Stroll through the lovely Colclough Walled Garden before continuing to your country manor for the night. (B)

Day 6 — Adare

Trace the picturesque Copper Coast, a long stretch of beaches and cliffs along the shores of County Waterford named for the 19th-century copper mines that once operated here. Stop at Lismore Castle, the private home of the Duke of Devonshire, and visit its stunning gardens, set within the castle walls.  Then travel inland to Adare Manor, a Neo-Gothic castle that is one of Ireland’s most prestigious hotels. (B)

Day 7 — The Burren and the Cliffs of Moher

Head for the coast of County Clare with your guide. Explore the otherworldly landscape of the Burren, where glaciers have left the countryside covered in an unusual limestone karst pavement.  Then get an astonishing view of the Cliffs of Moher—and the seabirds they harbor—on a private boat tour. Return to Adare Manor for your final evening. (B)

Day 8 — Return Home
