Nwabisa Mayema is a South African entrepreneur who has dedicated her career to building connections and partnerships to solve global issues and create sustainable jobs. As an advocate for female entrepreneurship, Nwabisa has founded companies, served as strategic partnerships director at the Branson Centre, and facilitated at DreamGirls Academy to implement the U.S. Embassy's Academy of Women Entrepreneurs initiative. She also worked with the learning design team at GetSmarter in the analysis, design, and development of the Women in Business online short course in collaboration with Syracuse University in New York State.
Over her career, Nwabisa has been selected as one of the 100 Brightest Young Minds in South Africa and as one of Independent Media Group’s Top 100 Young Independents in Innovation. She was twice chosen to participate in the U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program, first as a change maker in social entrepreneurship, and later in the Women Alumni as Economic Multipliers program—the first of its kind. She has also participated in Austrian Leadership Programs organized by the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Nwabisa holds a degree in political science and public administration from the University of Cape Town.
