H10 Villa de la Reina

Madrid, Spain

With a convenient Gran Vía location and impressive interior design, the H10 Villa de la Reina offers a comfortable base right in the heart of Madrid. The large lobby has been elegantly styled with granite columns interspersed with Moorish lanterns and large ceramic urns filled with potted palms. Bookcases and mirrors line the walls and a bar area offers a relaxing spot to enjoy a drink or some light tapas.

A traditional wire-cage elevator flanked by the building’s original, early 20th-century, marble staircase takes you up to the 74 guest rooms. With high ceilings and large windows, they retain the hotel's period charm but are decorated in a more contemporary style with subtle tonal accents and high-quality linens. All feature modern, well-equipped bathrooms in a monochrome design, along with robes, slippers, air conditioning, Wi-Fi and coffee machines.

Gallery Hotel

Barcelona, Spain

Located in Barcelona’s elegant Eixample district, the Gallery Hotel is a comfortable contemporary property that offers excellent service. The friendly staff looks to connect with each guest, offering personal attention and good local advice.

The simplicity of the hotel’s 110 rooms evokes a sense of calm with predominantly muted tones but a splash of vibrancy in bright pillows and wallpaper. Rooms in the Superior category and above include a pillow menu, as well as Nespresso machines, automatic late checkout, and ‘Wi-Fi to go’ smart-devices to aid your exploration of the city.

On the roof, there is a terrace bar which also features a small raised pool with views over the surrounding rooftops. The hotel also has a gym and sauna.

Downstairs, breakfast is served in the restaurant which also offers an à la carte lunch and dinner menu of seasonal Mediterranean cuisine. In summer the restaurant opens onto an outdoor patio with a retractable roof and is a particularly pleasant spot to relax. Twice a month the hotel also hosts a flea market in their gallery space next door.

Villa Soro

San Sebastián, Spain

Housed in a 19th-century mansion that once belonged to an aristocratic Basque family, Villa Soro is now a protected Site of Historical Heritage in San Sebastián. The large entrance hall and comfortable drawing room recall its days as a family home with the intimate atmosphere permeating throughout the hotel.

The 25 rooms are split between the main manor house and the converted stable annex behind. The decor in the guest rooms is classical and traditional with some featuring antiques, but all provide modern comforts such as coffee machines, air conditioning and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Breakfast is served in a breakfast room lined with decorative wood panels which opens onto a small terrace in fine weather. There is no on-site restaurant, but the hotel can provide a small room service dinner menu. The three-Michelin-starred restaurant Arzak is about a 15 minute walk away, or you could walk into the heart of San Sebastián in about 20 minutes. The hotel is also about a 15 minute walk from Zurriola Beach.
