Art and science enthusiasts will delight in this new journey to Switzerland. As you travel to Zurich, Bern, and Geneva, follow in the footsteps of Albert Einstein, behold the magnificent Jungfrau, and view the art of Paul Klee. A special highlight features a behind-the-scenes look at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN).

Highlights Include:

  • Science: Follow Albert Einstein’s career as student and professor in Zurich, then in Bern visit his flat and office (Swiss Patent Office) as well as the Einstein Museum. Take a private tour of the Sphinx Observatory, perched on a shockingly steep precipice in the Alps.
  • CERN: Located just outside Geneva, CERN is home to the world’s most powerful particle accelerator—the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In 2019 a scheduled shutdown allows the rare opportunity to descend five stories into the heart of ATLAS, largest of the LHC’s four detectors, for an up-close look at this sophisticated scientific equipment.
  • Arts and Culture: View one of Switzerland’s most important art collections and works by Paul Klee in Zurich and Bern. Take in stunning Alpine panoramas from the windows of a cog railway as you ascend the Bernese Alps to the “Top of Europe.” Enjoy a relaxing day in the Swiss countryside with a private wine tasting and savor meals at Michelin-starred restaurants and a traditional raclette lunch in Gruyere.

Included meals are denoted as follows: Breakfast (B), Lunch (L), Reception (R), Dinner (D)
