2019 Itinerary

Day 1 — Orlando, Florida

Meet fellow guests and experts at a welcome dinner. (D)

Days 2-4 — Cuzco and Machu Picchu or The North Coast, Peru

Explore historic Cuzco and the Inca ruins of Chinchero before traveling through the Sacred Valley of the Urubamba to the mountaintop stronghold of Machu Picchu. Or visit Moche temples and the adobe city of Chan Chan on The North Coast of Peru. (B,L,D)

*For the September departure, we will enjoy four nights (Days 2 - 5) in Peru. Guests going to Machu Picchu will spend three nights in Cusco and one night in Lima at the Belmond Miraflores Park. Guests choosing the North Coast alternate will have two nights in Trujillo and two nights in Lima.

Days 5-6 — Easter Island, Chile

Trace the history of a lost civilization with your archaeologist guides as you explore Rapa Nui National Park, a World Heritage site home to the beachside altar of Ahu Akivi and the Rano Raraku quarry, where hundreds of moai were abandoned. (B,L,D)

*For the September departure, we will spend one night (Day 6) on Easter Island.

Days 7-8 — Apia, Samoa

After crossing the International Date Line and losing a day, get a taste of Polynesian culture at a festive fia fia dinner and show. Visit the former estate of Treasure Island author Robert Louis Stevenson or snorkel among the vibrant coral. (B,L,D)

Days 9-10 — Great Barrier Reef or Daintree Rainforest, Australia

Cruise to the Great Barrier Reef’s pristine northern reaches where you can snorkel among a vibrant collection of coral and tropical fish. Or venture into the Daintree Rainforest, the oldest living rainforest in the world. (B,L,D)

Days 11-13 — Angkor Wat, Cambodia

Arrive into Cambodia for a three nights' stay where you will explore the World Heritage site of Angkor, including the enigmatic Bayon, the overgrown remains of Ta Prohm, and the magisterial Angkor Wat. (B,L,D)

Days 14-15 — Taj Mahal, India

In the former Mughal capital of Agra, see one of the world’s greatest architectural treasures. Then, tour Emperor Akbar’s grand tomb, visit the rural village of Kachpura, or explore Keoladeo National Park and Bird Sanctuary. (B,L,D)

Days 16-18 — Serengeti Plain or Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania

Tanzania has more land devoted to game reserves than any other country on Earth. You will have three nights here relaxing at the luxurious Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti. Search for the "Big Five"— lions, leopards, Cape buffalos, elephants, and rhinos on the Serengeti Plain. Alternatively, spot wildlife in Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest volcanic caldera, and enjoy time at the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. (B,L,D)

Days 19-20 — Petra and Wadi Rum, Jordan

Discover the Lost City of Petra, which was half-built, half-carved into rose-red cliffs by the Nabataeans more than 2,000 years ago. Delve deep into the desert on a 4x4 expedition to explore the starkly beautiful landscapes of Wadi Rum. (B,L,D)

Days 21-22 — Marrakech, Morocco

Experience Marrakech as you stroll through the winding pathways of the medina, see the spectacle of Jemaa el-Fna Square, and immerse yourself in the lovely Jardin Majorelle. (B,L,D)

Days 23-24 — Orlando, Home

Relax and enjoy a casual meal and a night’s rest before returning home on your independent flight. (B,L,D)

Days 13-15 — Paro, Bhutan

Watch daily life unfold in what many consider the last true Shangri-La. Hike to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, one of Bhutan’s most sacred sites, and visit Rinpung Dzong, a hillside fortress. Enjoy a demonstration of traditional archery. (B,L,D)

Days 16-17 — Taj Mahal, India

See perhaps the world’s most famous building, the Taj Mahal, the white marble mausoleum that took more than 22 years and 20,000 people to build. Learn about the construction of this UNESCO World Heritage site with your guide, as well as the history of the Mughal Empire. Explore nearby Red Fort of Agra, where legend has it Shah Jahan spent his final days and Emperor Akbar's grand tomb. (B,L,D)

Days 18-19 — Serengeti Plain or Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania

The Serengeti Plain is home to Tanzania’s largest national park and Africa’s densest “big cat” predator population. Your safari adventure begins with a game drive to the lodge where you can spot wildlife such as zebra, antelope, elephant, lion, and leopard. If you have already visited the Serengeti, take light aircraft to the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest unbroken caldera in the world. With your expert naturalist guides, observe its permanent population of about 25,000 animals, including bull elephants, black rhinos and lions. (B,L,D)

Days 20-21 — Petra and Wadi Rum, Jordan

Discover the Lost City of Petra, which was half-built and half-carved into red sandstone cliffs by the Nabataeans more than 2,000 years ago. Explore the starkly beautiful landscapes of Wadi Rum. Opt to discover the spectacular rock formations of Wadi Rum on a 4x4 expedition, an evocative lunar-like landscape made famous by T.E. Lawrence and the film “Lawrence of Arabia”. (B,L,D)
