Frederick Stonehouse

Frederick Stonehouse has authored over 30 books on maritime history, including The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, a regional best seller. He has been a consultant for both the U.S. National Park Service and Parks Canada and has appeared as an expert for National Geographic, History Channel, and Fox Family. Recipient of the 2006 Association for Great Lakes Maritime History Award for Historic Interpretation and the Marine Historical Society of Detroit’s “2007 Historian of the Year,” Fred teaches Great Lakes Maritime History at Northern Michigan University and is a consultant for numerous Great Lakes projects and programs.
