David Keeling is the Distinguished Professor of Cultural Geography in Western Kentucky University's (WKU) Department of Geography and Geology. Professor Keeling's research interests include the geography of exploration and discovery, resource use, regional cultures, and development in emerging economies. He has published extensively about Latin America, transportation, and cultural heritage. He represents the American Geographical Society (AGS) as a Study Tour Leader, and has lectured on over 40 expeditions, including recent around the world expeditions in 2018 and 2019. He was born in England, worked in Australia for 12 years, and has lived in the U.S. since 1980.
