Dagný Ívarsdóttir

photo of Dagný Ívarsdóttir

Born under the ever-lingering midnight sun in the Arctic, Dagný grew up surrounded by exploding geysers, spewing volcanoes, majestic glaciers and powerful waterfalls. Although Iceland will always be her heart stone, Dagný’s unstoppable urge to explore the world and discover new treasures and cultures is true to her Viking heritage. She studied languages and business communications in Australia and Denmark, and holds a Master’s degree in marketing and international business from the University of Iceland.

Dagný has been sailing and working as a cultural specialist / naturalist guide since 2014 onboard small expedition vessels. Her assignments took her all over Iceland, Scandinavia and Europe but she feels most at home in the polar regions where she was born. Most recently she worked for three months as a polar expedition guide in Antarctica but is now looking forward to returning to Iceland to spend time with family, friends and the great Icelandic nature.
