Kay Layton Sisk began her travels in the back of a red Studebaker station wagon as her parents ventured from Texas to Pennsylvania (her dad’s home) every few summers. In her husband, she found a like-minded traveler and they introduced their sons to America, from the Grand Canyon to Maine to Orlando, in an RV. Her lifelong dream of going to Australia and meeting the pen pal she’d had since she was eleven was realized in 2005. After that there was no stopping the traveling and they’ve ventured to the Mediterranean, cruised the Chilean fjords and the Falklands, returned to Australia, toured New Zealand and crossed Canada east to west via rail. But their grand adventure was the one they took in fall 2015, Around the World with Smithsonian Journeys.
Kay lives in a small town in Texas and, between journeys, volunteers with the public library and writes romance novels.
