St. Petersburg bears the nickname of "Venice of the North" for good reason. Countless canals, palaces, and churches make the city a cultural work of art. Experience a fascinating tour that features the major historic sites. Visit the former Czar’s residence, the Winter Palace, which houses the Hermitage, one of the world's largest art museums. The Victory Column or the Alexander Column, which commemorates the victory over Napoleon, is located in the square next to the museum. The Admiralty and the famous avenue Nevsky Prospekt are also on the program. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour through the world-famous Hermitage. The evening is unscheduled so that you can choose to take a leisurely stroll, attend the theater, or take an intimate evening boat ride on the Neva. (B)

Day 3 - Czar Palaces and the Amber Room
In the morning visit the former residence of the Czar Pavel I, Pavlovsk, located 28 km outside of St. Petersburg. Explore the beautiful park and visit the palace, which was designed by Charles Cameron from 1782 to 1786 reflecting the transition from the Baroque style to Classicism. The afternoon takes you to Pushkin / Tsarskoe Selo, 25 km south of St. Petersburg. Here you will visit the Catherine Palace, built in the baroque style, which served as the summer residence of the czars. Later, enjoy a joyful specialty meal in a restaurant. (B,D)
