  • Edwin C. Bearss is one of America’s most renowned Civil War historians. Mr. Bearss worked as the National Park Service’s chief historian for over a decade before becoming the Director’s Special Assistant for Military Sites. In 1990, he was a featured commentator for Ken Burns’ PBS series, The Civil War. He has also published many books, including Fields of Honor: Pivotal Battles of the Civil War in 2006.
  • Follow the route of Sherman’s army as it moved against Gen. Joe Johnston’s troops from Tunnel Hill to Buzzard’s Roost and Dug Gap. Relive Gen. James B. McPherson's advance through Snake Creek Gap and the resulting Battle of Resaca, and visit key sites north of the Etowah River.
