Overview
Civilizations flourish when different cultures meet and trigger a dialectic of ideas and innovations. Nowhere in the world do more diverse cultures convene than in the Mediterranean, the crossroads of Western civilization. While other cruises may focus on the monuments of ancient Greece and Rome, this voyage also includes Phoenician and Etruscan sites that rarely appear on Mediterranean itineraries. Medieval Cefalu, ancient Paestum, Pompeii, and Herculaneum, as well as Tarquinia, a center of the enigmatic Etruscans, await you. And throughout this unique voyage, you can enjoy the luxurious amenities of the small ship Corinthian.Smithsonian Expert
