In addition to being the Gastronomic Capital of France, the dynamic city of Lyon boasts a strong cultural heritage and recent architectural innovations. Stay for two nights at the Sofitel Lyon Bellecour overlooking the river and sample some of the city’s many pleasures. Discover the Old Town’s well-preserved spiral staircases, lovely Renaissance building facades, and passageways called traboules. Learn about the city’s still-thriving silk industry at the Maison des Canuts and about its role in the history of cinema at the Institut Lumière. Dinner at a traditional bouchon restaurant, a walk through the bustling food market, and a cooking class provide opportunities to appreciate the local cuisine. We will also tour the Musée d’Art Contemporain and the Lyon Confluence, two of the modern architecture projects that are revitalizing the city.
