    The Xakanaxa Camp, located on the banks of the Khwai River in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve, is surrounded by towering forests, open savannah, floodplains, and lagoons. As one of the first lodges in the Okavango Delta, the camp’s classic safari charm is expressed by its thatched main building extending over the Khwai River on raised platforms, providing the stunning views. The building includes a lounge, library, dining room, bar, sundeck, pool, and fire deck. The camp serves renowned, traditional safari meals with a splash of Pan-African influence. Meals include a light breakfast, brunch, high tea, pre-dinner cocktails and snacks, dinner paired with excellent South African wines, and after-dinner coffee and liqueurs. The thirteen luxury tents made of canvas on raised decks comprise the guest rooms, and retain the camp’s small and personal safari style. Each tent contains a full bathroom with hot water, fans, insect repellents, hair dryer, poncho, and unique water sprinkler system to aid in keeping cool. At night the tents run on battery lamps and candles, maintaining the African ambiance.

    Chiawa Camp is family owned and operated, located under a grove of evergreen Mahogany trees in the heart of lower Zambezi National Park on the banks of the Zambezi River. The luxury safari camp has spectacular views of its idyllic surroundings and resident wildlife including leopards, lions, elephants, and hippos. The camp has a thatched lounge and bar area complete with a viewing deck and open camp fire. Known for its excellent African-European fusion cuisine, the camp serves all meals, including afternoon tea with snacks on the viewing deck, and a four course dinner by the campfire or on a sand bar during the full moon. The guest tents all have timber floors and verandas, as well as 24 hour electricity and hot water, king sized beds with Egyptian cotton linens, his and hers washbasins, and both indoor and outdoor showers. Some tents overlook “the dry riverbed” while others face the Zambezi River.
