CAMBRIDGE PRE-PROGRAM OPTION
What better place to begin your immersion into English life than in lovely Cambridge. This merry university town’s charm and history rival those of Oxford in a breathtaking setting of medieval architecture, manicured gardens and the winding River Cam. Guided tours feature Bletchley Park, the UK’s wartime code-breaking headquarters; the striking Perpendicular King’s College Chapel, home to Rubens’ Adoration of the Magi; Sidney Sussex College; Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial; and St. John’s College’s famous Bridge of Sighs. With time at leisure, perhaps you’ll try punting on the Cam in a wooden flat-bottomed boat, a traditional pursuit of residents and visitors alike and an exceptional way to observe life in this ivy-covered community. Accommodations for three nights are in a deluxe, centrally located hotel. This Pre-Program Option is available at additional cost. Details will be provided with your reservation confirmation.
CANTERBURY POST-PROGRAM OPTION
Made famous in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, Canterbury’s history and heritage is immortalized in the medieval pilgrimage site of the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral, a World Heritage site, founded in 597 A.D. Visit Winston Churchill’s home at Chartwell and Down House, the home of Charles Darwin. See the stunning White Cliffs of Dover and explore the secret underground tunnels of the Dover Castle. Accommodations for three nights are in an inviting, centrally located hotel. This Post-Program Option is available at additional cost. Details will be provided with your reservation confirmation.
