November 13 — Arrive in New York
Individual arrivals at the Warwick Hotel in midtown Manhattan. Gather for a welcome reception with fellow travelers and Study Leader Bill Kloss. After your opening lecture, dinner is served at the hotel. (R,D)

November 14 — The Frick Collection, The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Following breakfast service, attend a lecture by Bill Kloss. Depart for the Frick Collection where you'll visit the small special exhibition, Vermeer, Rembrandt and Hals: Masterpieces of Dutch Paintings from the Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery, The Hague, featuring Rembrandt’s Simeon’s Song of Praise ca. 1631 and Vermeer’s iconic Girl with a Pearl Earring ca. 1665. Peruse the museum’s impressive permanent collection featuring more masterpieces by Rembrandt, Nicolaes Ruts, ca. 1631, Vermeer, Officer and Laughing Girl, ca. 1657, and Hals, Portrait of a Woman, ca. 1635. Depart the museum for a sumptuous lunch. In the afternoon, arrive at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Join Study Leader Bill Kloss for a guided tour of the museum’s extensive Dutch and Flemish collection, including galleries dedicated to Rembrandt and Hals and masterpieces by Vermeer including Study of a Young Woman, ca. 1665–67, and Young Woman with a Water Pitcher, ca. 1662. Depart The Metropolitan Museum of Art late in the afternoon and return to the hotel. The remainder of the evening is at leisure and dinner is on your own. (B,L)

November 15 — Lower Manhattan Tour, The Morgan Library & Museum
Spend the day exploring lower Manhattan and its relation to Dutch art and culture. Enjoy a guided tour of The Battery and discover the rich history of the original 17th-century Dutch settlement, New Amsterdam. After lunch, depart for the Morgan Library and Museum for a guided tour of the permanent collection. Built between 1902 and 1906 to house the private library of Pierpont Morgan, the property was expanded recently and now features a complex of buildings. The collection contains some of the finest prints and drawings in the world, including works by Leonardo de Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Rembrandt. There is also an impressive collection of printed books in rare bindings. Depart for the hotel in the late afternoon. Gather in the early evening for the short walk to your festive farewell dinner.
