He lived in Turkey for almost eight years, served as U.S. Air Force historian for Turkey, and has published numerous books on the early history of the Turks. Gary will lead the September 9th, September 27th, and October 21st departures. Karen Britt is professor of Byzantine art and archaeology at the University of Louisville. She has excavated in Turkey, Greece and Israel. Karen will lead the September 16th departure.
