Joe Carper
Joe Carper is a veteran Alpine hiker and has led Smithsonian hikes throughout the Alps and North America. For many years Joe held several positions at the Smithsonian and more recently was Director of Operations at the Appalachian Mountain Club. When not in the Alps you can find Joe hiking in New England’s White and Green Mountains.

Dave Parry
For the past 25 years Dave Parry has hiked somewhere in the long Alpine chain with a group of dedicated Smithsonian hikers. Dave has even ventured as far as the High Tatra Mountains between Poland and Slovakia with a Smithsonian group and has conducted researched hiking trips in Nepal.
