Rio Sagrado Hotel, Villas & SpaRio Sagrado Hotel, beautifully situated on holy Inca land and along the Urubamba River, has been conceived to pay tribute and blend with the magnificent ambiance of the Inca Sacred Valley.
The hotel is centrally located 3.2 kilometers from the Town of Urubamba, and 15 minutes away from the gateway to the eternal citadel of Machu Picchu (Ollantaytambo Train Station). The lesser elevation found here (700 meters lower than Cuzco City, at 2,800 meters above sea level) renders Urubamba’s Inca Sacred Valley and the hotel an ideal acclimatization destination for Cuzco City and Machu Picchu travelers.
Traditional folkloric architectural design blends with contemporary high-end décor and functionality in Rio Sagrado’s suites. Textured warm-colored walls direct attention to supporting natural leather-bound beams across the ceiling, as done in 13th-century Incan constructions. Heat transfer wooden floorboards have been fitted to warm the entire floor, while breathtaking ample riverfront terraces blend seamlessly with the countryside. Natural rocks and exquisite wildflowers decorate the terraces, a destination for the wild birds and enchanting butterflies as well as hotel guests.
