Eric Denker

Eric Denker is a senior lecturer at the National Gallery of Art, where he has been since 1978. From 1998 to 2006, Eric also served jointly as the Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, overseeing the permanent collection and coordinating an active exhibition schedule. Eric attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and received his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. He is the author of seven books and catalogs and has served as an adjunct professor for Georgetown University and at Cornell University’s, Washington Semester, where he currently lectures on 19th century French art with an emphasis on the path to realism to impressionism and beyond. Eric will lead both departures of Paris and Normandy: Masters of Impressionism.
