  • Throughout this tour, travel in the company of an exceptional Smithsonian Study Leader.  Diane Perushek has worked as head of the East Asian libraries at Princeton and Cornell Universities, and is current Director of Global Relations at the University of Hawai‘i. Diane will be on the September departure. Elizabeth Childs-Johnson has a PhD from the Institute of Fine Arts in New York City, and is a Sinologist specializing in Chinese art and archaeology. She will be leading the October 13th departure. Dorothy (Dottie) Borei, Emerita Professor of East Asian History at Guilford College in North Carolina, has taught American college students in Beijing and Hangzhou during five fall semesters for China Educational Tours and Duke University. She has also been the director of several summer programs for faculty and students in both China and Japan, and in addition has traveled individually to South Korea, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Dottie will lead the October 20th departure.
