This was a "once in a lifetime" experience. I could not have participated in the festival without the Smithsonian's program and I am very grateful to have had this wonderful opportunity.

The Cannes International Film Festival would be a disaster to try to do on your own! Smithsonian made it most enjoyable.

The Riviera at its most glamorous - starlets posing on sparkling beaches for eager paparazzi, veteran directors enjoying an espresso in a seaside cafe, the pageantry of elegant personalities filing down the red carpet amid flashing cameras, and - best of all - the artistic wealth found in films from around the world.

The Cannes Film Festival is an exclusive annual event that celebrates the best names in film today. Through a special accreditation granted by the Festival itself, the Smithsonian offers an in-depth, one-week program to explore the world of film in Cannes. Smithsonian travelers will attend film screenings and presentations by film experts, and meet with up-and-coming directors and actors.

Plus, your hotel is located in the center of Cannes, within easy walking distance to the Palais des Festivals, the Croisette, the old port, and the main festival locations around the city. Join us next May and discover a world usually off-limits even to most film lovers!
