The Cannes Film Festival is an annual international event, reserved for professionals, celebrating the best names in film today. Through a special accreditation granted by the Festival,* the Smithsonian offers an in-depth program to go behind the scenes in this fascinating world of film. During this exclusive tour, join an audience with actors to watch Cannes Classics screenings, view films by young directors in the Un Certain Regard competition, watch directors introduce their Short Films, and attend your choice of myriad other films. Visit the Film Market where the business of film is conducted between buyers, distributors, and producers, and tour the International Village along the waterfront—all off-limits to the public. Smithsonian’s special access also features a panel discussion with a short film director and several actors, moderated by your Smithsonian Journeys expert. To cap it all off you’ll enjoy the excitement of a private reception at the American Pavilion!
