Owned and operated by professional wildlife biologists, Pantanal Wildlife Center is located a mile and a half off the Transpantaneira Road, on the forested banks of the wildlife-rich Pixaim River. With air conditioned rooms and accessible riverine forest, the Pantanal Wildlife Center offers the area’s best opportunity for serious birders, naturalists, and photographers. The center offers boat outings that feature the world’s tamest Giant Otters. Other exclusives are the Pantanal’s only mobile canopy towers strategically located at fruiting and flowering trees and silent, electric river catamarans for photographers using long lenses on tripods. We also offer horse rides, cattle drives, walks on scientifically designed forest trails, research lectures, mammal spotlighting, star chart for study of the spectacular night sky, and Brazilian barbecues.

The center has ten double-occupancy rooms with air conditioning and private hot-shower bathrooms. The largest rooms easily accommodate up to four single beds, which is ideal for families. The Jaguar Research Center is the only tented camp located in the Great Jaguar Reserve of central Pantanal. This shady, wildlife-rich forest location guarantees maximum immersion in nature, flow-through breezes of cool night air, sounds of frogs, crickets, and birds. Each of the center’s roomy, walk-in tents measures 5m-by-9m and features wooden floors, two double beds, hot-shower bathrooms, and 24-hour electricity to power lights, two moveable pedestal fans, chargers for camera batteries, and laptop computers.
