Hotel Manantial del SilencioPurmamarca
Hotel El Manantial del Silencio was built in a strictly neo-colonial style, with regional materials such as adobe walls and hollow cane roofs to achieve a seamless integration with the environment that surrounds it.
The building was designed by the architect Mariano Sepúlveda (a specialist in Spanish colonial architecture), who in 1985 was granted the Nobleman´s Cross by the Royal Order of Isabel la Católica for his work in Spanish colonial style in Chile. It is tastefully decorated with objects belonging to historical families from the north of Argentina.
It has 18 ample bedrooms overlooking the gardens and mountains, and each has a private bathroom, direct national and international dial phone and Wi Fi.
Because the hotel is located in a semi-arid mountain climate, there are few cloudy days throughout the year, making the swimming pool a year round amenity. It operates on a solar panel system which heats the water, creating a place of serenity surrounded by gardens.
Awasi HotelSan Pedro de Atacama
The location of the Awasi hotel has been an oasis resting place for travelers for thousands of years. Today it is more than a place to rest…it’s a destination. The thatched roofs let in the warm morning sun. At night, the hotel’s subdued lighting, combined with the Atacama’s dry air, allows an incredible view of the southern hemisphere night sky.
Awasi is made up of only eight cottages, each with a private patio, indoor and outdoor shower and separate reading/resting sofas. During the day, guests can choose a wide variety of activities, from a walk through the nearby flamingo preserve to a guided, rugged jeep tour through the desert. For a day of less excitement but full of pleasure, some guests may choose to spend some time in a poolside cabana with pisco sour.
