From Tucson, Arizona, Yar Petryszyn has served as Assistant Curator of Mammals at the University of Arizona since 1977. He has also conducted numerous workshops on mammal classification and ecology for the Reid Park Zoo and the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum. A popular Smithsonian Study Leader, Yar has led the Grand Canyon weekend programs for Smithsonian travelers for several years.
