Rose Houk is a freelance writer and editor who specializes in natural history, history, and archeology. Over the last 20 years, she has shared her knowledge and enthusiasm as a guide and lecturer for many educational groups. She has written numerous books about our national parks and monuments and has been a frequent contributor to Arizona Highways magazine. Early in her career, she worked as a ranger-naturalist at Grand Canyon National Park. Forthcoming publications include an anthology for Mesa Verde National Park’s Centennial. Recent works include The Guide to Southwest National Parks and The Mountains Know Arizona, with photographer Michael Collier. Her home is Flagstaff, Arizona.
