Lisa Stevens

Lisa Stevens is curator of primates and giant pandas at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo. She is responsible for the management of a diverse collection of endangered species including gorillas, orangutans, lemurs, gibbons, macaques, and giant panda. Also included in her area of responsibility is the zoo’s ground-breaking exhibit “Think Tank,” which explores the science of animal cognition. Lisa has traveled extensively in Africa and is co-founder of Beads for Education, a project that supports the education of 300 Masai girls in Kenya.
