James Rosenthal lectures and writes on current affairs, traveling extensively and drawing on more than 30 years’ experience as a veteran Foreign Service officer and former U.S. Ambassador. He represented the U.S. State Department in Africa and Southeast Asia, served on the U. S. delegation to the Vietnam peace talks in Paris and was U.S. Ambassador to the West African nation of Guinea. Other overseas posts and traveling include Mongolia, Trinidad, India, Vietnam, France, The Central African Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, and the Philippines. In addition to his diplomatic duties, he taught political science and international relations at the U. S. Military Academy at West Point. He is a frequent and popular lecturer on private jet expeditions for the Smithsonian.
