Gloria Baxevanis is a Manager with Smithsonian Journeys and has been with the Institution since early 2005. A native of Romania, Gloria is fluent in Romanian, Hungarian, and Greek, and has also studied French, Italian, and German. Prior to joining the Smithsonian, Gloria lived in Romania and was actively involved in the environmental movement. Her journeys as a program manager for several Pan-European environmental projects took her to 16 European Countries. During one of those trips, Gloria fell in love with Greece, the country closest to her heart, which she returns to each summer.
