David G. Wilkins

David G. Wilkins, Professor Emeritus of the History of Art and Architecture at the University of Pittsburgh, served as the Director of the University’s Art Gallery from 1976 to 1992 and was Chair of the department for nine years. In 2005 he was honored by the College Art Association with their National Award for the Distinguished Teaching of Art History. He has taught on the Semester at Sea program and the Duquesne University Program in Rome, Italy, and has led many art tours to locations in Europe and Asia. His authored, co-authored, and co-edited books include Maso di Banco, Donatello, Art Past/Art Present, History of Italian Renaissance Art, Beyond Isabella: Secular Women Patrons of Art in Renaissance Italy, The Search for a Patron in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, The Art of the Duquesne Club, The History of the Duquesne Club, and The Collins Big Book of Art.
