Barbara Boehm

Barbara Boehm is a Curator of Medieval Art and The Cloisters and a specialist in sacred art. She is an alumna of Wellesley College and New York University'’s Institute of Fine Arts. At the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Dr. Boehm’'s keen interest in Mediterranean trade and the interaction among medieval Christian, Jewish, and Islamic cultures in the Middle Ages was the focus of Beyond Borders, the Belle Ribicoff senior seminar she gave at Vassar College in 2011. Her current research focuses on Jerusalem as an inspiration for the creation of medieval works of art, the subject of the exhibition she is organizing for The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2016.
