What a pleasure to share this trip with Ann Marie -- she and our in-country tour director Huang were marvelous hosts and her academic experience, especially her research into the lives of women, and particularly women owned businesses in the markets, flowed beautifully with Huang's long, generational view of the country's history, customs and modern life. And, of course, who could ever forget the family of 5 on one motorbike - or the motorbike carrying a refrigerator for delivery! A great introduction on our first trip to Southeast Asia. We were terrifically impressed with Smithsonian Journeys. We also did the extension to Angkor Wat and Phnom Penh -- with an equally gifted in-country tour guide.
